Tatt Meby ingridblueComment: I think your composition is good and the subject is interesting. I don't have much insight to offer that hasn't already been covered. I do know that the majority of voters don't respond well to greenish casts on images. A couple of times I used a greenish tone intentionally, and both times I got slammed, and enough comments make it clear that they didn't like the green tone.
One thing that the others haven't mentioned is that there is a very lot going on in this image. The voters like uncluttered, simple shots with a clear focal point that draws the eye. Maybe a shallower DOF focusing on the arm would have made this look less like a candid, and given the viewers a little more direction for their wandering eyes.
BTW, I like it, and I like the big flower on the back of her head. |

pirouetteby krnodilComment: Oh, Karen, I love this image. I haven't a clue what the problem it. You got a favorite too. I think without realizing it, Xuko has told you why it didn't score as high as I think it deserved. There are probably a lot of voters who feel the same way he does. |

Sarahby jwillertonComment: People seemed to have liked this image -- the majority of the votes are six and above, and nobody trashed it with a one or two. I think it is just the distracting blown highlights on the right that prevented a really high score. The model is beautiful and you did a great job of capturing that beauty.
You said the hair on the right was lost in the b&w conversion. I'm wondering what method you used for the conversion, and I'm wondering if you could use two different layers with different parameters for the b&w conversion. Then use masks to bring back the blown hair. |

Mtn Goat in the Elkhornsby XukoComment: I really like the subject, composition and colors. I think a Levels adjustment would improve the image, more contrast would help too. There is an USM action called Luko Sharpening that I think would add depth and vitality to the shot. That might also help the focus that seems to have fallen a little short. The rocks in front of the goat seem sharper than the goat itself. If you want the details of Luko sharpening, send me a PM.
I think with a bit more work in Photoshop, you will have an impressive photo. |

Tale of Two Bridgesby meyersComment: I think this is an excellent use of architecture to set off the primary subject. I don't agree that the architecture must be the focal point in order to meet the challenge. I like this composition and the DOF. |

The keeper of the castleby bmartuchComment: I like the composition and subject, but would like the image better if there was some fill light. All those wonderful details need more definition. |

Ducks on Acidby KelliComment: Neat processing. The image as a whole is really good. I like it. For birds, it probably doesn't work so well since the colors have been altered. |
