Florida Critterby MelonMusketeerComment: I've never seen a gopher tortoise, but I've read about them, and how they get buried by the developers. There is a sanctuary in Boynton Beach where they can be relocated from building sites. |

Lady in Waitingby MaryOComment: This is exquisite -- the soft colors, the lovely plants framing the goose, the graceful pose, and the bokeh. It is all so gentle and feminine. Nature is an artist. No, I think it is you who is the artist! |

King of the Concrete Jungleby fantomfotoComment: He looks annoyed that you have invaded his morning sunbath. The lighting is very dramatic. It's nice seeing all that detail on his face. |

Day 4: Heronby bobonacusComment: Nice detail on the bird. But what I really like is the background -- the lovely tall plants with the yellow flowers and the gently curving leaves. |

"and Mom says..."by tnunComment: Too bad about the quality. That's so frustrating when the capture is so wonderful. I find the pileated woodpeckers very hard to shoot. They are always so high up in the trees. I've gotten lots of shots, but none that I am really happy with. |

Day 6: Mothers Loveby bobonacusComment: Oh, that is so cute. I have never seen a little one under the wing like that. This image makes me think of a sketch I bought about 40 years ago. It was of a baby camel nursing, and the mother's head was not shown. I think a slight vignetting (in all four corners) would help this image. The line of the mother's neck takes the eye up and out of the picture. With the vignetting, focus would be directed more toward the center and the missing head wouldn't be an issue.
P.S. I found the missing head. Mary took it on Day 4. Message edited by author 2008-06-08 00:43:53. |

Cheetahby trevytrevComment: Nice clear shot, and I like the eye contact. The missing feet bother me a bit. If you're thinking of cropping the left as Prism suggested, you might consider taking some off the bottom too. |

Hi There!!!!!by fantomfotoComment: What a beautiful lizard! The image is great. I love the strong color and the contrast. My first thought when I saw it was: "no way, this can't be real!" |

bright green bugby BujanxComment: I like the crop the way it is. It's nice to see the surroundings, and the DOF really sets him off. The color of the bug is amazing. This picture takes my imagination into the realm of sci-fi. I can imagine some tiny people hiding behind that rock on the right. |
