Jawsby BrianRComment: How interesting! I really like this. I really like the way you have created the border to continue the black in the image and to balance the composition. I like the bold colors and the geometry. And I really like the light. The composition is outstanding. I like the perspective of the huge shark and large person in the foreground with the small ship and very small person in the background. Marvelous image. |

getting acrossby posthumousComment: I like the action and the rain. And I like the b&w conversion and contrast. I really feel for her. I think in her situation I would have headed for that open door. |

First there is a fountain then there is no fountain, then there is...by raishComment: From the standpoint of Street Photography, the person on the left gives the image action and humanity, however outside the confines of the challenge topic, I would prefer the composition without the figure. I like the large oval of the fountain filling the width of the frame, and I like the repeating yellows of the lights, building, tree, and fallen leaves. The dull light gives it an interesting atmosphere. |

Whose Onlyby jaysonmcComment: It's interesting that I feel there is more human interaction in this shot than in your outtake. There are as many people in the outtake, but I think the cars distract from them.
As with the other shot, I really like the color in this shot, especially the reflected color on the pavement. And while I usually don't like all the electrical equipment in a photo, you have so much of it here that it becomes an interesting feature -- the overhead traffic lights and the row of arched street lamps. The more I look at the shot, the more I find to like about it. |

Poverty, Lately it's everywhere you lookby QuigleyComment: I think the composition and subject are very good, but personally I don't like the yellow cast. It's quite sad to see him all bundled up and sleeping in what appears to be broad daylight. This is poverty for sure. |

scarecrow.jpgby sulamkComment: Ooo, what a great image. I love the soft focus and sketchy feel of this. It's rather like a charcoal drawing. Beautiful light and shadows. |

Blue Tongue Boyby cryanComment: Great focus -- wonderful clarity to the eyes and texture in the hair. I like the partial desat. This is a fun photo and a really cute boy. He's right about the Halloween look. That is the first thing I thought when I saw it. |

Sax Playerby AliciaComment: I really like your b&w conversion -- great contrast. The shine on the sax is really nice. The background is so busy, that I am surprised you were able to isolate the subject. As it is, the background adds interest and texture to the image. Well done. And you had a good time as well! |

Clive, A Genuine Homeless Person,With his Worldly Possessions.by BrianRComment: The poverty really wasn't captured in the photo. This could be any old man with a walker having a day of fishing in his retirement. That says a lot for Clive. He has managed to maintain his dignity under his extreme conditions. His clothes are clean and neat and his possession are in a neat little duffel. He could be any one of the myriad of old retirees here in Florida. I hope you give his a copy of this excellent portrait. I think he would treasure it. |

Fish Tales From The Hoodby HipychikComment: Leave it to you to make a pile of trash, a broken wall, and weeds into an interesting and even cheerful image. I like the broad black borders, they give the image the contrast it needs. |
