mystic pizzaby skewsmeComment: This is such an ironic shot. The location is so isolated, and the unhealthy looking woman standing under the vitamin sign holding high fat food is just so odd. I like the flat sky and the harsh light too. It all adds to the weirdness. Why is she just standing there like that? What is she waiting for? What is she looking at? |

That Girlby KelliComment: I like the focus on the girl with the blowing hair; she definitely has the energy in this image. The contrast and b&w conversion are very effective. I'm not sure why you went with blue, and although I don't mind it, I don't see that it adds anything. |

McCafeby MelethiaComment: The two splashes of red seem to be trying to connect the subjects: girl and New Yorker sign, but I don't really think they are connected. I really like the light and focus on the girl; I think it would help to desaturate the sign. |

Juvenile Magpieby GregoryBComment: I've never seen a Magpie; this is interesting. Evidently you don't have squirrels, raccoons, and deer there. We could never have an open feeder like that. The seed would be gone in about two minutes in my yard back in NY. I think the tall fence is interesting. I wonder what you are keeping out or in.
As far as the image is concerned, I think I would prefer a dark vignette over this light one. I find the light vignette a bit distracting. Maybe if you took it all the way to white I would like it better. |

Nu Imageby GermaineComment: Great way to advertise. Really bright fun subject. However, I am really drawn to the street and architecture in the background, and I wish the truck wasn't in the way. Maybe you can get us another shot of the village. |

The Balloon Manby SteveJComment: I smiled instantly when this image opened. It seems to be quite windy, and I have to think that selling balloons on a windy day must be quite difficult. It's also a little sad to see him standing there with so many balloons, and nobody seems to be interested in buying one. That's a valid message in itself, but I would really love to have seen a delighted child looking at the balloons. |

Night Artby xianartComment: The people with the 3-D glasses really seem to be enjoying the experience. I like the light on their faces and the contrast in the image. I get a good feeling for the event, with some people milling around and visiting, and others still involved with the art. |

Candid cyclistby snafflesComment: This seems to be well processed for photojournalism, a nice clear shot of the moment, but I think for Street Photography (an art form) more contrast is needed. What I particularly like about this is the walk sign. The posture of the little walking man on the sign is echoed by all the pedestrians. |

Checking Out the Menuby GreetmirComment: Such good processing. I'm so glad you posted the steps. Before I read them I was particularly taken with the subdued color, and was trying to understand what made it so special. I like the reflection in the window, and I get a really nice feeling from this little snip of the neighborhood -- the cobblestone streets and walk, the open door of the restaurant and the sun on the building across the street. |
