One of the rare instances where B&W didn't work for me at all.

Why am I showing you these people? I liked the way the light hit her (it's reflected from a window across the square.) I liked the guy behind her, also in his own little world. Beyond them, though, there are grouplets. Just an interesting (to me) view of folks on a nice afternoon. I also really like the wide angle for shots like this. You can aim away from your subject, sorta. And I just like wide views, though they are often far too complicated and busy.

The two splashes of red seem to be trying to connect the subjects: girl and New Yorker sign, but I don't really think they are connected. I really like the light and focus on the girl; I think it would help to desaturate the sign.

Looking at this and I would not know this is Germany. McDonalds is taking over the world.

She's in her own world -- good job showing us that. Sometimes it's easy to know when BW is the wrong choice. This would have been one of those times -- to abandon those beautiful warm tones would have been a sin.

This is beautiful. The way the light strikes the woman its almost like she is in a spotlight and away from the rest of the world. Add that to the seperation from the hustle and bustle in the background. Fantastic. 10's from all but the Russian Judge -he's a jerk so don't take it personally :)

It's the strange correlation of color between headscarf and sign that ties the composition together. No wonder b/w didn't work!

Beautiful light and composition. You've got a triple whammy going here -- the (semi-)traditional Muslim woman, the American-influenced stuff in the background, all shot in Germany!

Lovely lovely image Melethia...the light and shadow on/of the woman is beautiful. I love the way the scene unfolds behind her with the autumn leaves leading the way.

I guess I need to look back through all the images, but I think that street images, for the most part, speak for themselves. Without even looking at your title or description I see the contrasts of this lifestyle from American society. I like your lighting and the interest that you captured in the background. I especially like that the reflected lighting grabs the eye each time that it passes through the frame and pulls it right back the subject. This is well-balanced and the tones are perfect. I'm adding this one as a fav!

What beautiful light - I love the way it hits her too.. the orange color in her scarf is picked up in a slightly more muted tone in the sign and that would have been lost in the b&w version, not the only reason that the color is better but a reason still.. the scattering of leaves with their various colors reminding that Autumn is in full swing..but it is the shadows I so enjoy in your work .. they are long and rich.
