Cormorantby wetlandComment: This is a beautiful portrait. But for the record, this bird is a cormorant, not an anhinga. They are very similar, but the cormorant has a hook on the end of its bill, and the anhinga's bill is very sharp and dagger-like. The cormorant traps his fish in his bill, and the anhinga spears his fish. |

After further study, I now see the crucifix, but I still don't know how to rate it. I have a feeling it will haunt me -- be the one image I remember from this challenge. |
