Awww, how adorable! Blue Jays are pretty fearless much of the time ... bordering on obnoxious, really. I've found that baby birds of all kinds are pretty curious when they're really young, though; then they get wise and learn not to play with strangers as they get older.

Immature Green Heron

First time I saw one of these guys I was completely confused as to what sort of Heron it was. I'd only seen the adults before. I don't know why birds insist on changing appearance when growing up AND/or growing amorous; it's much harder to ID them in anything other than adult breeding plumage!

Nice detail and I like how he has his feet positioned; looks kind of endearingly awkward.

Kind of funny to me how most of them are just standing there, with their heads pointed down like they're admiring their reflections .. or trying to remember why they're there ;-)
