Very abstract water but overwhelming in patterns and color for the poor duck. I think for this challenge I would prefer to see more duck and less water. You have detail on him and the duck's reflection is particularly clear, but it's not quite enough for me to get past the water (which is the color of my car's antifreeze, now that I look at it some more).

OOB, certainly. The shot is well-composed but a bit drab; maybe some increases in saturation and contrast ... or maybe I don't really want to see the duct-taped diaper any better than I already can!

I love the one looking right at me from amongst the fray. And, oh, look, there's one with his beak around another one's head, and the victim is squawking! And the 3 up front intently dividing the spoils. Lots of great mini-scenes in this. You really captured the moment wonderfully well.

Swans & Marsh — Midwinter

Swans are nicely positioned in the frame relative to each other and colors are good. I think I would have cropped out everything above the bank to focus more on the swans and the reflections of the trees, which are very nice.

Nice sharpness on the eye and interesting framing with the branch. Sky is a little flat but I doubt the bird was willing to hang around til some nice cloud formations drifted by. Bird blends a little into the tree, especially on the left. Good for reality, not so dramatic for a picture. Maybe some selective dodging/burning might make him stand out more.

I think this is one of those situations that just cries out for a long zoom, so you (and perhaps more importantly, your equipment) stay far away from that belligerent bovine! Nice stop-action, but risky!

This would be nice for a spooky tree with ravens kind of thing. Don't know what kind of birds they actually are, but reality is not as important as perception.
