Fine Line Between Good and Evilby rmezzoComment: Impressive job on the editing. I like the implication that light/good is less real, the imperfections polished away, no furrow of worry in the brow. Really thought-provoking image.
That said ... not sure it isn't just a bit of a shoehorn. I can just stretch my mind around the idea that the effect of the line is the subject instead of the physical line I see, so I'll buy it. |

Line of columns whit childrenby Rino63Comment: Really nice image, but a bit of a stretch for the challenge IMO. Mostly because I see the line of columns as background to the kids, who grab my eye immediately and look like they're having a blast playing in that big space. |

Spotted!by spiritualspatulaComment: Brief pause before scooting up the tree, no doubt.
Greens look a little oversaturated on my monitor. |

heron landingby tnunComment: The shape of the heron and the color of the water are just wonderful! I would actually crop tighter to get rid of the foliage (make the image taller than it is wide), increase the contrast and/or burn the bird a little to darken him, as he looks a little paler than he should. Mind you, I'm only mentioning these things because this has so much going for it and a few little edits would push it into the splendid category, IMO. You got the moment and that's the critical bit! |

Why the caged bird sings...by egambleComment: Just saw your forum post about this entry. I don't know if I was clear in my comment but straightening in post-processing was what I was thinking. I know one often has to take shots at a slightly odd angle to avoid unwanted elements. But if you had straightened it I would have had less to comment on ;-)
BTW, I gave you a 6, and really did find this a thoughtful take on the challenge. |
