The Red Starby MsAmbrosiaComment: Lighting is somewhat dramatic which works well with the brilliant red of the flower. I would like the center to be as sharply focussed as the outer petals. |

Lines of Lightby LastlaststarComment: Maybe not as sharp as I'd like but definitely a creative use of light. Would be even cooler with a neutral fabric covering the floor and cord. |

Unfoundby PaulComment: I kind of expect the light to be dim and spooky for a shot like this, so while it conveys aloneness it isn't sinister because it's bright. Could be alien-ship bright but it doesn't feel that way. The boy is unfound but not lost, perhaps not wanting to be found. The lighting definitely affects my perception of the image; creative way to meet the challenge IMO. |

nothing gold can stayby posthumousComment: Dang it; I missed the figure when voting!!! Now I'm mad at myself. Not sure I would have scored it higher ... can't really award points for carving ... OK, maybe one or two more for creativity in subject matter. I feel completely different when I look at the image now! I liked the textures and lighting and tones before, but this is so much more interesting with that subtle, ephemeral figure. |

The giant in White riverby GlanniComment: Maybe that's supposed to resemble a giant crayon? If so, I'd shoot from a lower angle so the top touched the sky, make the sky blue and desaturate everything else. Background has some odd texture to it that looks too much like PP effects for my taste. |
