Purple Martinby rodfulkComment: Tough little bird to capture. This shot came out a little soft and washed out, though I can see some feather detail and a catchlight in the eye. If this was cropped I'd try a much wider crop so the bird took up less space in the image. |

Headin' Westby wetlandComment: Love the pink in the near wing, and you got a nice catchlight in the eye. Not really fond of the stark tree in the background; assuming the bird didn't offer you a better shot I'd play with different crops and angles to make the composition more interesting and play down the tree. |

Bee, no macro.by PaulComment: Good detail for a non-macro. Very shiny eyes, I must say. I like the amount of detail vs. motion blur you captured. |

3 hours later...by TomCubisComment: LOL! Motion definitely means something different to a tortoise (and I just voted on a hare; how funny is that?). |

Sophia Flewby RKTComment: Looks like Sophia is about to go SPLAT! But cats seem to be able to recoveri n mid-air more often than not. Not sure what I think about all the noise; I suspect I'd like it better if there weren't parts of the chair in rather sharp focus. Kind of surreal and intriguing that the cat's not casting a shadow. |

Hobbesby phreakComment: Handsome fellow; very sleek-looking. Shot seems a little soft to me. |

Anas platyrhynchosby marbroComment: Ooh, tough exposure. The Mallard and his motion are well-captured and I like the light on him. He is disappearing into the background, though, which is good for him in the real world of predators but not so great photographically. Maybe shooting with less DOF would have blurred the background sufficiently for him to stand out better? |

One more step... andby optixComment: Cute squirrel; like the DOF and composition. Not a lot of movement here, however. Wild animals can be *so* uncooperative! |
