I feel prettyby alexgarciaComment: Very nice composition, but the intensity of light on the arm is a bit distracting. |

Fire in the Evening Skyby NikonJebComment: Am just revisiting. I suspect you got 'average' votes in the main because the image lacks impact, IMHO. The sky, which was your reason for the shoot in the first place, was so dramatic it deserved more of the frame, and I would have personally been tempted to crop more of the ground off and possibly the area to the left of the needle. A bit of USM and possibly a bit of play with the colours would have given you the WOW you needed for this shot.
Having said all that, when I voted, I gave it a 7. Why didn't I comment at the time? Dunno. |

Style Classiqueby jdannelsComment: Nice! Have you considered darkening the picture overall, and a closer crop to frame the face? |

Reflecting on Summers Pastby PegasusComment: Originally posted by posthumous: How did you get a fall leaf to reflect green? Fantastic. And that large green shape on top completes composition. You have 3 main S curves reflecting each other, and a smaller S curve, also reflected. The S curve is a beautiful line. You can't lose! 8 bump to 9 |
Thank you! The green was already there - I merely increased green and yellow in the colour balance, and decreased red. I felt that the green reflection was more important than the red colours in the leaf for this competition. |

Minnowburn Beechesby gerardComment: I feel that the colors are not defined enough - needs to be sharper, crisper . . . dunno |

Slippery when Wetby glad2badadComment: I confess I know nothing about HDR, but I feel that the grove of trees is not sharp/defined enough - it blurs together. |
