Pacificby charmayneComment: Shots like these always seem to do well here on DPC and I imagine this will be a high six scorer in the end. the let down for me is the noise in the sky. Still worth a 7. |

Wolf Pup (in the wild)by basssman7Comment: Cute little bugger. Lighting looks nice, sharp around the eyes. But to me something is missing and I just can't figure out what it is. If I could I would say 6.5, but I can't so I will have to round down in this case to a 6. |

Doveby sarrobiComment: I like the soft tones on this iamge. The Dove looks very nice in this pose, with feathers only slightly ruffled. Lighting looks great, composition is very nice. 8 |

Sunrise on Mullet Lakeby EfergohComment: This scene has a lot of distractors for me. The sillhouettes are out of balance and become places for my eyes to roam. The sky has a fair share of noise in it. Overall the dark area in the lows right corner throws it all out of whack.
If this was shot at a different vantage point to get the colors of the sky without the sun overpowering everything I think you would like the results better. 5 |

Trail of Tears by BradComment: Great photo! really makes me miss San Diego. I learned to water ski in these very waters years ago. I grew up in Lakeside and every weekend from Spring to Fall we would head to the bay and waterski. Then they opened up San Vicente reservoir for skiing and I never had to ski in salt water again.
Interesting point about this bridge is the center sections are designed to float. That was a requirement of the Navy that in the even the bridge came down, the center sections would float so they could be moved out of the way of all of the Navy ships that would need to leave the port.
This and on top of Point Loma looking down on the subs have always been favorite memories of mine.
Nicely captured. |

Tranquilityby PhotoDaveComment: I really like the compoistion here. the only thing I would suggest is using a graduated ND filter, or maybe process for different exposures and beln. the high contrast is causing a little color shift on the top of the mountains. Use the filter, either real, or the NIK Effects one and tone that down a bit, then bum the contrast so that beautiful blue water really pops off the screen.
Great photo even with the minor points I mention. Message edited by author 2007-07-25 09:58:28. |

Red rocks - Red barnby bvlindalouComment: It really takes a good photographic eye to see photos like this. Most people would drive by this bend in the road seeing the barn and think I should take a picture of that. But you have cpatured the barn in all of its splendor as well as that curve in the road and the contrasting house across the street.
This is really a great photo. |

GTG - Seoulby shalrathComment: The whole way home I was wishing I had takne a shot of this guy for the extreme emotion challenge. Hopelessness would have fit this very well.
Can't belive you didn't use it. Can't wait to see what you came up with since you need the shot for the playoffs.
