It's an interesting idea. The colors and the lighting are a touch off. If you were to crop the top just a hair, it would really punch the negative space.

This is a very interesting shot. I love the details contrasted by the bokeh of the background. I wish the light were a touch higher or spread a bit more on the rain guage. Nice use of negative space.

Alone White Rook

I'm not big on the tone of this photograph. Perhaps a bit lower aspect and crop out the forground and background wood (make it more of a square) would help accentuate the rook. There is a light causing a glare on this pretty board. If you can reshoot, try moving the rook one square closer, get down lower and you might get rid of that glare (or move the light if possible). Then crop square. You might be pleasantly surprise. Nice idea.

Nice movement and negative space. Photograph looks a little dark. You could crop just a bit more off of the right side and still have the negative space impact. Good capture.
