Purple Delphinium

I've stared at this off & on all day trying to think of words to describe that shade of purple. Can't! It's unbelievably purple, fantastically purple, halucinogenically purple...and yet the center of this flower is so disappointing, so organic, so...believable. Lots of contradiction in this shot. That moldy green color in the center of the flower is....I don't have a word for that, either.

My first impression is of the color. The Delphinium stand out from the artful BG. The light on the BG seems different from then light on the flowers, works very well.
