b is for bottleby JutildaComment: A lady bottle! in lovely-lady colors. It adds to my enjoyment to know the texture is a headstone (marking a different kind of container). I can see I've been missing out on some fine layered comps while I've been gone. This is great! |

Paintedby KatmystiryComment: Yes! Looks like something I'd spend 20 min admiring in a museum, like one of the Old Dutch Masters painted it. |

• Okra •by Bear_MusicComment: For the first time, as I'm looking thru the challenge results I'm able to recognize names & personalities I've become familiar with in side challenges & forums. I see & recognize beautiful photography like this & feel surprised at how the voting turned out. For the first time it occurs to me in a meaningful way that if others are working to their own standards & artistic vision, so can I. I didn't enter this challenge because I couldn't escape the dead weight of knowing I can't pander to the voters. This beautiful shot is an inspiration. Shooting outdoors under a cloudy sky is something I often do. I love the soft shadows of low ambient light. The mystery. If I'd voted in this challenge, I hope I would've had the eyes to see it so I could give it a 10. |

Alien Life Formby GermaineComment: Timeless. I like the contrast between light & dark, & the alien-ness of the subject. |

Home Sweet Homeby dtremainComment: The color of that car is eye-catching, & beautiful. I don't know if these cars were that wonderful color in their own day, but who cares. It looks as out of place on an ordinary roadway as an orchid in the desert. The contrast is startling. Sweet shot! |

Piercingby LadyKComment: I think you should try it again, if he will let you. All that's wrong with this is it looks tentative. IMHO. One of those smooth-on, peel-off beauty masks would protect his skin from the dye in the face-paint. Pose him against a white BG that matches his eye-whites, & don't let his natural skin color show. Maybe work out your lighting in advance to light the black separately from the red. Later, you can work it up to look like a cover for Rolling Stone Magazine or something. "D |

broken spoke busby SchmeldontinoComment: Hah--this is the first Time Machine I've seen that has windshield wipers & headlinghts "D and O Dear are those by any chance bullet holes in the windshield? The Texas Top Hands must've played a few honky-tonk dives! Sweet shot! |

old flower.jpgby SchmeldontinoComment: I like the grain, expecially on the leaves. Also the very interesting border, with the color giving this an old time feeling. |

Turnby JutildaComment: You're getting this old faucet (or spigot) to look quite appealing, with these chocolate tones. Nice modeling with the light, too. |
