Susie, I gave this a 3. It's not street photography, thus doesn't meet the challenge. It would be a good idea to research a bit what the topic is before trying to shoot, it will increase your chance of a better score. Street photography has lots of different definitions, but typically it requires a human and it should be candid. You commented you couldn't find volunteers for this challenge, which again suggests you are not too familiar with this genre of photography.

Otherwise it's a perfectly competent photograph of a not very interesting architectural detail.

In principle this is OK, it meets the challenge, but it's also not very interesting due to the composition. Coming back to the comments I made earlier, simpler images tend to score better. This one is quite "busy". I also believe it could be a little bit sharper, again, watching that shutter speed.

With regard to the composition, I think this would benefit greatly if you had crouched down and perhaps been eye level with the tree stump.

I think your commenter during the challenge has nailed it with his one line comment. Also the composition is a bit static, it would perhaps benefit from being less centered.

This didn't score particularly well. Again, I gave this a 4. I didn't find the image interesting. Yes, you met the challenge, you did a double exposure, but that's honestly about it. I suggest studying some of the images that score well on DPC and try to see what you could learn from those. I'm not sure what the story is here or what is the point of this image? what are you trying to show us? Why would we want to look at this?

After 10 yrs looking at images on DPC, I have learned that the images that score the best are the ones that have the most interesting compositions and lighting. Often times those are also the least complex images. Clutter, mess and distractions do not work on DPC.

If you genuinely want to improve your scores on DPC, I would thoroughly recommending looking at lots of images, not just on DPC but also on other sites such as Flickr and 500px.
