Lunar Soilby BlackboxComment: Here are two lists of comparison showing the major soil compositions of the Earth and Moon (just and FYI)
Earth:
34% Iron, 29% Oxygen, 15% Silicon, 12% Magnesium, 2% Nickel, 2% Sulfer
Moon:
42% Oxygen, 21% Silicon, 13% Iron, 8% Calcium, 7% Aluminum, 6% Magnesium
115 people are telling me they thought my photo was average or below and that they still believe the Moon is made of cheese? You're kidding me! Oh well...I guess the numbers speak for themselves...it's Lunacy I say! You just wait 'till I get out my 16" telescope - I'll put you right inside one of those craters. Then, I'll dig a hole and cover you with...what?...dirt! Another FYI - the Moon is NOT, I repeat, NOT a Planet - it's a 'Moon': an object the revolves around a Planet. A Planet is an object that revolves around a Star, like the Sun. Class dismissed - smoke 'em if ya got 'em. |

Single Leafby tano_goochComment: Hey Tano,
I like your Silicon Flower photo because I bet that might grow on the moon making up part of the soil composition found there - 21% in fact! but, I liked this photo better. I like the rusty color against the blue, the DOF, the soliraty leaf and crop is perfect. Maybe just a tad bit of selective sharpening on the leaf could bring out a little more detail. Just a thought. Picking as a fav...nice job! |

Dirty by LalliSigComment: I'm not voting in this challenge but I would have given your photo a 10. Good luck to ya! Ok, update - I looked thru all the photos, I think yours is the winner. Maybe some of those 'hand' photos will edge it out but...this photo is tops to me. Great job! |

A Dirty Canvasby kausikmpiComment: I like your photo. I hope your not getting to much grief about it not being 'dirt' in the literal sense. Great job! |

The Moon: Dirt or Cheese?by TJinGuyComment: It's amazing how many people don't think that the moon is dirt. I can't wait to read the other comments made to you...nothing bad but you'll see why I'm curious. |

going homeby clangley50Comment: 150 out of 226. Unbelievable...and shame on the voters. It was one of the most powerful images in the bunch and spoke volumes without an explaination. And, now...we know the true story. Thank you so much for sharing a part of your life with us...this is what it's all about in my humble opinion. Saving to favs. Brightest Blessings. |
