Speaking completely without experience, I'd say try diffusing the light, even by hanging a thin white sheet in front of it. A reflector might add some fill to the dark side, too. Of course, it's all about your artistic intention!

The processing seems fine to me. It's good b&w conversion. I like the expression and the composition, too.

Good portrait. This seems so familiar, I wonder if a nearly identical photo used in a challenge recently. Or maybe I already looked at this awhile ago!

Very cool shot. Interesting technique. The symmetry works well, as does the overlay. I'm trying to figure out how one eye is blurred and the other isn't. Maybe you overlaid two nearly identical portraits (or maybe just half his face moved). :-)

I like how the building stands alone. It reminds me of an old fashioned postcard. Good b&w, though an old fashioned "hand colored" look might be interesting, too.

Terrific architectural detail. I should be bothered by the "dirty" windows, but I'm not. Looks like you did some heavy denoising or something that gives it a slightly dreamy/smooth quality, but I like it.

Under The Bridge

I was sort of prejudiced against this photo because I saw in past Architecture challenges how popular the bridge photos were -- yet everytime I look at this I like it more and more. Love the gray tones, subdued colors and the symmetrical, abstract quality.
