 I could really use help on this one...

Both lighting and processing are well off... but this is the best of the shoot... you don't wanna see the rest.

Any ideas?

Speaking completely without experience, I'd say try diffusing the light, even by hanging a thin white sheet in front of it. A reflector might add some fill to the dark side, too. Of course, it's all about your artistic intention!

The processing seems fine to me. It's good b&w conversion. I like the expression and the composition, too.

Very harsh lighting...but this can be used to your advantage.
