I hadn't read the story, but felt this was an intriguing photo on its own. Btw, not knowing the tale, I didn't get that the subject was meant to be a boy. Still, I think this qualifies for "most underrated" entry!

I confess I didn't vote on all the images in this challenge and this is one I hadn't seen until now. I'm pleased it at least made the top 30. The eyes do not stike me as fake or overdone (something I'm usually sensitive to). I agree with the comments that a slightly deeper depth of field might be an improvement, but I think that "flaw" is offset by the loveliness of the young model and the stunning colors, fore and aft.
