Dessert for Dinnerby PiechProductionsComment: Critique Club feedback -
This is a nice entry that meets the challenge well. Looks like you spent a good bit of time laying out your 'props' with an eye for detail, and it paid off.
The composition is interesting, though I find all the leading lines keep moving my eye quickly past the plate and on to that coffee cup.
The lighting is good, though the processing appears to have pulled the image back towards the dark side of things overall and the contrast is also slightly heavy.
Again, its the attention to detail that really sets this shot apart. The sprinkles on the milk, the placing of the strawberry - really great. About the only thing missing here is a salt shaker full of chocolate powder and I think I'd be licking my screen! |

Great use of bokeh. Per the challenge goal, it really enhances the subject by giving a context for the scene without providing detail which steals the attention away from the ref.
Composition is good, lighting is good. This really has the feel of a late afternoon game.
Pants on the ref are a bit overexposed, but I think all the important details in the rest of his outfit make up for it.
If possible you should try and submit at the full dimensions allowed by the challenge rules. |

day-14 Mustangby digitalpinsComment: Cool perspective and a cool looking car. Too bad the light wasn't a bit brighter on the car, but then all the detail would likely have blown itself to hell anyway. Really cool.
edit: holy shit I just saw this was a digitalpins shot! Welcome back from the bad side of town! Message edited by author 2007-09-15 22:27:08. |
