Technical Mindby hsvhoonComment: I think this barely meets the challenge. Including the glasses at least gives some nod to someone actually increasing their 'book smarts' by having been looking at the material at some point, but that's about it. The shot itself is nicely composed but the lighting is very drab. |

Buried in a Good Bookby jacqui_513Comment: Conceptually I can buy this as it at least shows someone adding to their knowledge or 'book smarts' by reading a book. Technically this picture needs to be thrown a life preserver. First you can barely make out that there is a book in this shot. The white is so bright as to be almost overexposed and the object itself gets so little space in the frame as to be incidental to the photo. I like the expression on the face, those super arched eyebrows are a keeper, but the focus here is very poor. I can't see anything in focus at all. Lighting is rough across the board with some nasty highlights around the eyes near the nose. Glasses were a good choice (if a choice) and are of a nice book-wormish quality. |

dante's staircaseby cutoutComment: Nice in an abstract sort of way, but this doesn't show book smarts in the sense of someone displaying skills/knoweldge acquired through reading. |

I Like It Hardcoverby labudsComment: Of course the pearl necklace is absolutely the perfect bit of subtle raunchiness to push this shot over the top. Good stuff. Little bit of whacked out light on her cheek but other than that really well taken. |

Marchby karmatComment: I think the inset is a great idea. Maybe only have the kite pink? I think this is a good march shot. |

Ashleyby njsabsComment: This is really nice. Only thing about this which irritates my eyes is the fact that hers aren't as level as the horizontal lines in the background. Her eye line is off just enough to ruin the symmetric component of the shot, but not enough to look as if her head is intentionally tilted.
A minor quibble, it's a wicked looking shot. I'm sure she was happy. |

Raissa (IMG_5457) II.jpgby albc28Comment: I like how the light is falling over the top of her. Not sure if I care for part of the head being cropped even though its rather incidental to the pose and the mood of the scene.
Hopefully this is not another 'oh by the way she's 14' shot because she certainly appears to be worthy of the routerguy hottie stamp of approval. |
