Hold On Rusty, Hold Onby hotpastaComment: Really like the DOF. Wonderful textures that you've done a great job of capturing here without, thank god, getting USM happy. Great composition, I love the balance of the shot. Overall just a really nice photo. |

Backstageby SJCarterComment: I like this shot a lot and I'll be interested to see how it fares once voting ends. My first reaction was 'where was this for Black and White in Color'. Very cool lighting and dark feeling to the shot. The one thing I don't care for here is the vertical rope leaning to the left. It throws the picture off balance and it creates a problem for the eye by making the horizontal metal shaft 'appear' to be not quite horizontal. Other than that, really nice shot. Hope it does ok. |

Old Ropeby prenticeComment: Great tones, great contrast. I love the symmetry of the composition which at the same time avoids coming across as lifeless. The shot has a feeling of motion to me, or tension. One thing that distracts me here is the gap about 1/3rd from the left on the bottom where you are looking through to - what. Something that is not rope like everything else in the shot. Also the leftmost strands stand out as very dark and sort of throw off the otherwise beautiful repetition of tones in the frame. Not sure how much control you had over the setup of this or if it was 'found'. Anyway, really nice work, I hope it scores highly. 8. |

Nauticalby JewellianComment: Love the photo. You've done a great job of using BW to bring out the interesting texture in the rope. Nice balance of blacks and midtones while still maintaining a lot of detail. Only thing I don't particularly like, just because it doesn't really do anything for the shot, is the DOF. The bottom few strands are out of focus and it is more distracting than anything as it doesn't really lead your focus to anywhere - everything in the shot is the same. Otherwise, great job. Hope you do well. 8. |

not anything but "rope"by KronusComment: This is really nice. I like everything about it but would offer two points to consider. First, tip it slightly to the left so the strands are more horizontal (yeah I know they are wrapping around something, but still the left side looks off kilter), and second I would love to see it BW but without the greenish hue. More yellow perhaps. Anyways, really nice shot and good luck. 8. |

Captiveby BoltiComment: Love it, hope it does well. Only thing I don't like is the crop point on the right (in the frame) arm. It looks like someone else is reaching down and grabbing the rope. Other than that, cool lighting, great expression, interesting composition that leads the eye around. Really good job. 9. |

Framedby d95vetteComment: Make it black and white and actually show the boobs and you'd have art. As it is, you've got amateur bondage softporn. Lighting is very harsh, composition is not pleasing to the eye. Wrinkled bed spread or whatever it is beneath her gives the impression the shot was just taken off the cuff with little concern for quality. Better luck next time. |

Time for a Breakby sogoz23Comment: Taking a point away just for seeing that you drink that otherwise fine brew out of cans! ;) |
