A Rose is a Rose is a Roseby SkyarcherComment: Very nice. This is a very good high key shot which balances extreme highlights with the perfect amount of detail to define the subject. |

Canary Wharfby dainmcgowanComment: Well everyone has an opinion - mine being that the tones were the wrong choice for this shot. Other than that, great composition and focus. |

Day 2 - Change of Seasonsby BudyaComment: I am so happy that the burning heat and humidity of summer is going to go away.
This is an excellent shot. Great tones, textures and composition. My eye wants the entire thing to be in focus though, so the oof area at the top sort of bothers me. Otherwise this is just an excellent piece of work. |

2-Smilingby BudComment: Very nice. Not sure if the burn helps or hinders here though. To me it adds an ominous feeling to an otherwise happy scene. |

Day 2by PuckzzzComment: This is excellent. Beautiful tones, symmetry and that little widget in the lower right to add an extra bit of interesting and keep the whole thing from going static. Really excellent. |

Day-Two.jpgby RoosterComment: Great scene, great tones, great composition. There ya go - 3 'greats' from someone who feels like chewing his arm off when presented with a toddler shot.
Something to try here - I can't tell if the focus landed on the ground behind her, but if the focus is correct then you might want to hit this with another shot of USM or (preferabbly) smart sharpen after you resize it. Resizing before save for web tens to muddy things up and you can usually correct for it with a modest application of sharpening again. |

Newsboyby dtremainComment: Interesting subjects, nice tones. Focus is a bit off. The white shirt is overexposed. Something to consider is that in black and white photography it is generaly better to UNDERexpose the shot a bit. You are after as much detail as possible in dark and middle gray tones. This is the oppossite of what you read about 'exposing to the right' and trying to capture as much highlight detail as you can. Also looks like some feet and head amputation going on here. Would like to see the kid on the right completely. The one in the background is hidden behind the paper anyway so no big loss there. Overall a nice shot. |

First Steps.jpgby pibbyComment: Well looks like you have a willing (or at least captive) model, so you've got plenty of opportunity to go for a super baby shot. Some things that would help here are trying to follow one of the guidelines of composition (rule of thirds perhaps? there are plenty), making sure your focus is on your subject and paying attention to the easily overlooked details before tripping the shutter - here that would be making sure no body parts are out of frame (the foot). |

Day-One.jpgby RoosterComment: Is this tone mapped? Or high radius USM? The tones are interesting, but the halos and the bit of blown out sky on the left hold this back a bit. |
