Lots to admire in this shot, which was one of my 9s - the impressionistic BG trees, the reflections, the lovely misty glow of course, and especially the gesture of that one fisherman to the other, the proffered fish. Congrats on your top 10.

One of my tens, I love the muted palette and quietude. A photograph can be many things, and this is an exemplary example of the flexibility and breadth of the art form.

The kind of shot I love to look at. I will say though the top 1/3 of your image is at odds - tonal range-wise - with the rest of the shot, or so it appears to me. Have you tried a crop where you just take out the top 1/3, basically placing the birds along the uppermost horizontal thirds line of the image? It would make it even more starkly elemental and increase the negative space. Plus put the subject in a place people aren't quite expecting, which to me isn't a bad thing. :)

So glad you went for this one Clive - it strikes me now as I look at it how Classical it looks - like an Old School painting, with the precise placement of the figures in the scene in iconic and almost tragedy-conveying poses. The Passion of Rugby.
