Focus and Reflectby colorcarnivalComment: Best way to get soft focus naturally - the dappling of color is quite painterly, and spread randomly over the frame as it is makes this shot vibrant. |

Waiting for Autumnby ElaineComment: Those highlights on the smaller petals look like pearls. I'm very glad you went dark with this - makes it a very interesting study of shadows and depth. |

a question about fallingby posthumousComment: I gave this an 8, it had a lot of appeal for me - you somehow managed to get that ethereal glow, which in other images is often used to make a shot "pretty", and coupled it with encroaching shadows and a whiff of menace. Soft focus, and yet it teeters on the edge of nightmare - genius! |

Shadeby JuliBocComment: Nice use of shade and silhouette to get your soft focus - this has a quiet and relaxed feel to it, makes me feel like I'm there under it, lying back and daydreaming. |

Reachby noranekoComment: You did a really great job here - nice gradual movement from sorta-sharp to smoothly blurred. I really like how all three give us a different point of view - straight on, partial profile and full profile! |

Morning Curveby BAMartinComment: Quite a beautiful vista, and a good part-hidden s. I like how the FG shadow directs your eye across the frame. |

Rudbeckia's Endby jaysonmcComment: It's a subtle s, and backwards to boot, but it is there. Nice saturation in this shot - all those yellow flares punctuated by little black puffballs. Have fun with that lens! |

the Charmerby MuppetComment: Looks like he's got a bead on you - very good capture of an s. Looks to me like you focused past a leaf or somesuch that was nearer your lens, which caused the obscured bit on the front of its head, not that your focus was off. If my guess about that is right, a wider aperture may have given you a clearer view of his snout. |
