bridgeby krnodilComment: Originally posted by pointandshoot: Beautiful shot! I find it interesting the spaces between the horizontal rails on the bridge seem to have retained more detail (local contrast) compared to outside of the rails. Also the detail (rocks) between the horizontal shadows on the river bank have more relative detail. Also the vertical spaces right next to the darkest trees. Conversely, none of the random shadow patterns have detail next to them. I wonder if that is a quality of the Zoneplate or merely a strange coincidence. I'll have to go back and review some of your other ZP shots. At any rate, I like how it helps to direct the viewers eye towards the bridge in this case. |
Actually Steve, the phenomena you observed is more than likely the result of the Kubota action - good observation, by the way! - running the action applied some gaussian blur to the whole shot and then I was instructed to paint back in whatever I wanted sharp - which I did in a somewhat random way - the bridge, some of the rocks, a bit of the trees - basically just fiddled with it until it looked aesthetically pleasing (to me) and not caring one whit about realism :D |

Tourists No. 2by GermaineComment: Got a bit of that colorful light glare here to, on the left. Gives what otherwise seems like a cold day a touch of warmth. |

Moonshine!by Ecce_SignumComment: What's the harm in a little color boost - enough with pinhole purism, I proclaim equal photoshopping rights for lensless images! This is quite beautiful and calming. |

Chair shadowby MelethiaComment: I'm almost fooled into thinking these are two chair shadows. I do like the richness of the colors here. |

blizzardby Ecce_SignumComment: Need a shorter exposure, I would think, to get more noticeable falling snow. But at 3200, I guess you would have needed giant floodlights to get faster! :) |

Pinhole Sunriseby GermaineComment: I imagine you might be able to accentuate those colors even more, get a nice moody purple sunrise. I think a lot of these pinhole shots do better at full size, it's all about gist and not so much about detail. Pinhole rules gist. ;) |
