Day 4 -Tearful Goodbyeby JutildaComment: Oh, Judy. I'm sorry. We just got gerbils for our daughters, which are their first pets, and I'm already bracing for the day they die.
The photo is very powerful and a nice tribute to your friend. Message edited by author 2007-01-11 12:27:37. |

TWO strobes? Who are you, again? Isn't this the guy who was balancing a single lamp on chair in the last go-round?
You might be able to rescue your face with some brightness/contrast adjustments. I'd also clone out the white rectangle in the upper right. |

The original looks fine, but you did a terrific editing job and turned it into something from a fashion magazine. I particularly like how you changed the background to be brighter in the center, drawing my eyes there. |

Portrait A Day-3 (Picture 1)by TCGuruComment: Paging Morticia Addams ...
Cool shot all around. I'd suggest cloning out the shadow back to the left - it distracts from what otherwise is a very nice composition. Or, if you're not up to cloning, just blur the line so it's not so sharp. |

Portrait A Day-1.jpgby TCGuruComment: What?!? I didn't do anything wrong, I promise. :)
I'll go with everyone on your eye color being beautiful. Did it hurt when the sun stabbed you? |

Portrait A Day-4by TCGuruComment: I love the expression, head tilt, sot focus, and overall composition. I'd just suggest toning down the yellow on your skin a bit. And paint over or clone that one white pixel above and to the left of your head. Message edited by author 2007-01-11 12:12:57. |

Three Speed Boyfriendby lkn4truthComment: Heh.
I would recommend:
a) Taking the 1s in stride. You had to know you'd anger some people, and they're entitled to be angry if this kind of thing makes them angry. It's not for you or anyone else to tell them what they think is appropriate.
b) Taking the 10s in stride. You had to know some people would so enjoy the audacity that they'd give you a 10. It's not good form to tell them they were wrong, nor is it up to the 1 crowd to tell them that.
c) Enjoying the notoriety. After all, you put the shot in, you might as well sit back and watch the fireworks on both sides. And stop apologizing in your notes! You knew what you were doing, so take pride in it!
I probably would've voted this on its merits and then given you a point for having the guts to enter it. :) |
