Coffee Table Bookby MelethiaComment: Okay, I'd better never hear again from you about my needing to leave Team Suck. :P That's all I'm sayin'. Well, and congrats on the shot and the finish. :) |

Cat on Woodby MelethiaComment: Well, you can't really complain about a 6.3 on the other one, but this one is really funny. I'm imagining her poking her nose over your camera into your face: "Play with meeeeeee not that stupid heavy thing with the little markings all over it." |

Court Street Bridgeby bmartuchComment: Heh. I'm poking around your "Where I Live" collection, and not realizing these are challenge entries. My firs thought on opening this one was "oh, nice strong diagonal!" :)
I think this is a case where color hurts the strong lines and interesting shapes. Not only would I try a B&W conversion, I'd suggest going back at night with a tripod. I bet those lamps would be beautiful. |

Into the pastby bmartuchComment: Bob, I think I see what you were trying to do, but it winds up looking to me like an old film print from the 70s. Or maybe that was your intent?
If you want to go for an old-time feel, see what it looks like in B&W, maybe with some grain thrown in? |

dialogby silverfoxxComment: I like this. :) I'm not sure about the title, but when it first opened I thought "ah, someone closing her eyes and basking in the morning sun."
Oh! Just got it (I think). It's a lamp, talking to the sun, almost like it's the lamp's god. Wow, what a concept - I went deeper than posthumous. ;) |

Shy Tigerby snafflesComment: Susan, I'm sure you got slammed hard for DNMC. Had I voted, I would've said the same thing. The challenge was to find something that evokes human traits. Puppets, stuffed animals, etc. are made with faces, so it doesn't feel like it fits to me.
Aside from that, though, the shot is a bit too bright. The result is that the black lines come out dark gray and the whole thing looks washed out.
I wouldn't spend much time on it, though. I've learned to chuckle and just move on. :) |

Griefby JuliBocComment: Beautiful find and nicely shot! I'm of two minds about the extra stems. Part of me wants them cloned out to make the subject flowers stand out. But part of me wants to leave them in to make this a found scene within a natural setting, which is more interesting. |

The doorway to hell!by bmartuchComment: Creeeepy. You did a good job bringing out the contrast of the grain. It's subtle enough that some of your commenters missed it, but smacks you across the face as soon as you see it. Good work! |
