The Prayerby btrinhComment: The composition and light here really drive the eye toward the cross. Very, very nice! In fact, it's the only 10 I've given out so far. If anyone gives you grief for using such a strongly Christian theme, tell 'em I'm Jewish and I can still appreciate the meaning of such an image. :) |

My Grandfatherby itakephotosComment: Ah, lucky you to have him. :) I still have one of mine, too. For the future, try either taking off his glasses or finding an angle so you don't get the reflections, which take away from his nice eyes. |

Half Dome, Yosemite by CaltropComment: Try getting the horizon out of the middle - make it a shot about the ground or the sky. That's not always better, but it often is, and I think it would've been more interesting to tilt down a bit. |

Sacred giftby shtojaComment: I can accept someone thinking that a stuffed animal is a sacred reminder of someone or something. But the photo says to me only "stuffed animal on a white background." To better convey its emotional meaning, I would've included a person hugging it or something like that. |

...for parby david_cComment: Heh. That's stretching the interpretation, but I can see it. |

Flower Powerby onejumpjohnnyComment: Not a bad shot, although too small to make much impact. I'm also not getting the connection to something sacred. |

Thank you for the fish we are about to receiveby scotthadlComment: I like the colors and the subject. The composition strikes me as too wide, though - the sun and the people are bunched up in the middle. I wonder how this would look as a portrait-oriented shot, cropped so the sun is closer to the left edge and they're closer to the right. |
