Finally, a new angle of the bridge! This is refreshing in more than one way. I've never actually been up on the bridge before even though I've driven past the falls hundreds of times. This angle actually makes me want to stop more than any views with the majestic falls included. Great job.

It looks to me like you did an overall sharpening to get the feller to pop more. He looks pretty darn good, but what has happened is the background noise that was probably minimal at the time of capture got brought out to a point of being distracting. I would recommend taking the extra time to select just what you want sharpened, so that other things don't suffer for others' greatness.

Nice shot otherwise. The eye looks fantastic and the overall lighting is really nice.

I really like this. The only thing that could have made it better for me would be some soft light on the front.

A nice, clean shot from an interesting angle. Way to keep your eyes open. I love the hint of the open flower in the background.

Paul makes a good point. You've got your shutter going really fast (1/1000), so you were lacking light. That put you at f/2.8, which doesn't give you much in the way of depth of field. I hear "DOF too narrow" a lot with my own photography, so trust me when I tell ya, people like their DOF! Make sure you're keeping your shutter speed just fast enough to prevent motion blur and keep that aperture as tight as possible (high number) to get the depth that DPC so desires.

OR! You can be like me and still prefer the shallow DOF and creamy backgrounds that f/2.8 gives you. Just be ready to hear "DOF too shallow" a lot. :)

It comes across as such a simple photo, but there's a lot of really subtle things going on. As others have mentioned, the composition is great. It's a composition choice that many new photographers wouldn't have chose. The light falls flat in most of the photo, but then dances around in the greens in your subject. Again, this is good in this case, because it draws focus where it should be. Also, the contrast of dry and dirty with fresh and new is wonderful in terms of concept.

Nice job.

I think that yellowed tile automatically drops any photo a full 1.5 in score. Tile aside, it's not a bad photo.

I didn't notice the shorter gal's hand until Melethia mentioned it. To me it looks like it's a carton of milk. Maybe I just want it to be a carton of milk to go along with Melethia's comment about "smoking not stunting everyone's growth." Milk is, after all, supposed to make you big and strong.

Honestly, after appreciating the general composition, due to leading lines, my eyes were directed to the larger woman's breasts. Man, that woman's in dire need of a good bra. The shorter gal unfortunately is forced to stare at those. I deduct that they keep their friendship professional and are not very good friends, otherwise the shorter gal should feel obligated to say something about her terrible/lack of bra. Or maybe! Maybe if the taller woman wears a proper bra she won't be able to make eye contact with the shorter gal. Perhaps she forgoes breast support for the sake of communication. Maybe they really are great friends after all.
