Wild Childby Alex_PetriniComment: Smash it, smash it!
Nice lighting. I'm even okay with the shadowing under the eye s, because it toughens him up and makes you wonder if he's got a black eye. Obviously he doesn't, but for this challenge it works. Ideally, it would have been nice to not have the tiny guitar covering his other eye, but that's kids for ya. You've also got a nice halo to separate him from the background caused by your background light. |

Vicious from Transformerby littlemavComment: I really like the composition. I have to say though, with the door behind, I get more of a "drunk lady stumbling out of the bathroom" than "vicious". |

katabori-netsukeby Dr.ConfuserComment: Well, that's weird. Somehow I had commented "=" at some point while looking through the challenge entries. I certainly can't leave it like that, so how about a real comment to replace my error?
I quite like your lighting here. It's enough to illuminate the subject, but just enough to kiss the contours of circular thingy. I'm not a big fan of photographing knickknack type things for challenges, but this is one of the better executions that I've seen. I don't know how "ancient" this feels, but that little carving certainly is neat. |

why not hereby bspurgeonComment: I would have cropped out the bushes, mainly because of the thing in the bushes on the left. Kind of a fun image in a Where's Waldo sense. That dragonfly is very well camouflaged. |

Little Guyby scooter88Comment: Oh hai! Cute little bugger. That's an extremely narrow DOF, and you nailed it. Nice job. I like the composition and subtle colors also. |

Woolly Bear on Red Russian Kaleby skewsmeComment: I love these guys! You really caught it in great light too. I will say, however, it looks like you burned the bottom right corner? I think the fire of the caterpillar fuzz would have held its own without you putting the vignette-type effect on the photo.
Was that corner blown by chance? I can see why you might want to burn it if it were blown out and white, but if that's the case, I think you took it too far. To me that corner doesn't have a natural look to it. It simply says, "I've been burned." |

On the Highway to Hellby UrfaKComment: This is very well shot, but I feel like it's missing something in the background to push it to the next level. The background is really bland as is. Great job on the exposure of the ant though. |

Bess goes walking.by RKTComment: Great simplicity. Bess looks like she's trotting off to somewhere. I will say that I feel there could have been some better light on her side facing the camera. The blacks have lost some detail there. Overall though, I really, really like it. |

Come on. Let me in.by bohemkaComment: I like what you've done here with the processing by embracing the far ends of light and dark. I assume the specks are dirt on the window that caught light? So cute and fluffy, yet so scary... |
