I've taken almost exactly the same image! I don't know if you had any trouble with focusing, but it was a bugger for me. The breeze was blowing the limb around, so I couldn't manually focus or auto focus. I think your results are better than what I came up with. I like that you can see other branches, thick with ice, in the background. Hey, I now see that was the challenge, so great job, heh.

What a beautiful site! Such great light, and there's a lot of interesting things to look at. To be a little critical, I think the birds are over-sharpened, but that's a minor nitpick. Great job overall, and a pleasure to look at.

Gorgeous little girl, and I love the glow in her hair from the sunlight behind.

The light on her face seems a little harsh to me. I can't quite put my finger on it. I can see that the catch-light is nearly center in her eye, so perhaps it was a camera mounted flash? There's also some dark shadowing under her chin on her neck. I think a softer/diffused front light source would have made this good image great.

It's still pretty damn good though, because of how beautiful she is and that great glow through her hair. The burst of green on the left is also complimentary to the whole.
