The captured expressions are priceless. How great that you were able to make these kids feel so comfortable in front of the camera. It seems pretty apparent from your wide aperture and relatively slow shutter speed that gaining a larger DOF with a smaller aperture would have required a flash. This would have likely changed the shadows and definitions on their faces. This photo works in spite of the soft focus on the front child. This one really caught my eye and held it. Nice job.

Brings back memories. I spent two consecutive summers in a 6 week wilderness school program (1976 & 1977) that was based in the RMNP. I learned to catch and cook those marvelous trout, hike and survive on minimal food and materials. It was an experience I'll never forget and this view really brings it all back to me. Great shot, thanks.

This is a good shot, but I am left with a sense of wanting something more to focus on. Perhaps making that fence a more prominent part of the composition might do it for me.
