Very nice - Could have been a much stronger image in my mind with 2 things changed.
1. Background would have been better if it was darker - That way the single stem would have stood out more - As it is it blends into one of the white items in the background.
2. The twig on the left is just a little too distracting and sharp enough to take away focus from the very sharp one. Nice picture.

I think you were onto something here - Maybe just a little more technical attention could have made this a much better shot. For constructive purposes - The scratch or mark on the left of the table should be cropped off or better still re-shot on a better table. The Maps wording behind the girls head on the left is really distracting. Also just making the girls a little more together would help with composition. A great idea though.

Looks like a little trouble with the exposure here - I presume it is far too underexposed due to the reading being taken from the center of the cameras lens which happens to be the bright window. Try taking an exposure from the items inside or using the exposure lock (Which most cameras - including compact cameras have) This will help you with better exposure and no doubt score.
