I didn't vote on this challenge, but I had peeked at the thumbnails. The left tilt, low contrast, grain and of course the chessboard, totally gave it away for me that this was a whiterook photo!

:) Now you have us confused!

FWIW, the bottle is a little too centered.

btw, this is one of my favorite shots of yours, if not the favorite. as someone else said, there's a nice sense of mystery to it. but mood, also.

Whiterook! Nice one. The haze in the room provides a hint of mystery. Is there a person sitting on that couch on the right or is it an old bean bag? Is that a bottle of whiskey or vinegar.

This image is very blurry and dull. Also, next time you might want to try having less objects in your photo.

too fuzzy and not enough detail.

I love the grainy look. Did you use a special filter? Light from outside looks artificial though. Almost like there's a space ship outside with it's lights aimed straight at the house! I'm giving it a 9.

Not very good metering of light. Is that a huge whiskey bottle?

Whiterook, is this your photo?

I like your idea of capturing the sunlight as it enters the window and hits the chair. I would have liked it more if the sun is hitting and tequila bottle. Now that would be a good topper!

not enough contrast.

02/01/2007 11:30:49 PM
This photo could use more contrast. Perhaps the light coming in from the windows in hurting it.

Let me guess.... Going for the brown that was stolen from you in the exit challenge, whiterook?

Guess I'm not the first - colors too washed out, hard to discern anything.

way to over exposed. I think if you would have taken this at night time with just regular living room lighting, it would have been a much cleaner and clear picture.

I didn't think anybody used a polaroid or scanner anymore! You must certainly be trying to acheive this look on purpose...good luck to ya!

this picture is very hard to tell what it is. it seems that you would have to concentrate a little to much to figure out what things are.

Looks like a little trouble with the exposure here - I presume it is far too underexposed due to the reading being taken from the center of the cameras lens which happens to be the bright window. Try taking an exposure from the items inside or using the exposure lock (Which most cameras - including compact cameras have) This will help you with better exposure and no doubt score.

Really poor contrast, highlights blown out, darks to dark. Boring subject IMHO.

could of been really cool with a little contrast adjustment 3
