Gathering storm ,1941by fredandaudComment: While the foreground is a little dark, I think it helps add to the ominous mood of this shot. The composition is awesome and the clouds shape the entire tone of the photo. Well done! :) |

You have the right to remain Silent.......Miranda (1966)by JamesKWComment: This is one of my favorites of the entire challenge! :D Not only does it completely meet the challenge, but it is technically excellent. Though it's a tad dark, I think it might actually help with the grungy look of the shot. Not only do I love that the hands are dirty and greasy, but the fact that you put him in corduroys is perfect!!! |

Neon Paris by scarbrdComment: I knew this one would ribbon! :D Still one of the most uncluttered Vegas shots I think I've ever seen. Great job! |

Red Barnby BlackboxComment: Absolutely perfect composition! You obviously chose this framing quite meticulously, and it paid off. The exposure on the neon is great and I like the faint warm glow on the building in the background. :) |

Contradictionsby CutterComment: While I think that some voters may hammer this shot for "being too dark", I think this totally rocks! The ethereal glow cast on the garage door and booth is great. :) The exposure on the neon couldn't be better and you seem to have handled the white balance choice quite well, as the fluorescent tubing looks great here. The only thing I may have done differently would have been to use a rectangular crop instead of a square one. Great shot! :D |

The Colorblind Still Seeby jrdawsonComment: While there were several B & W renditions of neon in this challenge, this is by far the best one. :D The abstract feel to the shot and extremely shallow DOF work SO great here! Wonderful composition, good border choice, and overall awesome shot! |

'A touch of class'by suemackComment: Wow, I never thought that I'd see such a well-done shot of a fast food joint. :) The lighting is awesome, the composition is great, and the neon is perfectly exposed. Not only did you take the time to make sure the painted lines of the No Parking area were parallel with the bottom of the frame, but you also framed this so that the right-side line of the handicapped spot leads you into the shot from the bottom-right corner. Excellent use of the subtle border as well. Hopefully everyone else will be able to see past the fast food joint and recognize how great a shot this is. :) |
