This probably would have rocked the Soft Focus challenge! The colors are just beautiful. I think a fairly thin white border outlined on the outside with an couple pixel wide black border work well here or maybe it would be too stark. I didn't vote in this challenge.

Beautiful shot and a score north of 6 is always a great thing! Nice composition (especially the foot steps) but overall it feels a wee bit too dark. Possibly if you had the luxury of shooting during a different time of day it might have been brighter? The border choice accents the darkness but on a more positive note, it makes it seem like I'm watching a beautiful movie that was filmed in the South Pacific. Pretty sky & water.

I remember voting on this - 6. This surely is a "leading line" but in a different sense than it is usually thought of in photography! :) Very attractive colors and sky and I like the slant on the horizon. The clouds could use a little brightening IMO (might have been accomplished with slective colors - not sure). Very cool shot that I think might have received a better score in a different challenge.

I knew this was yours - I'd recognize that little red-head anywhere! I hoped that you would do well with this and in a Free Study I think anything above 50th percentile is a really good finish considering the amazing competition that always goes into them. Congratulations!

A fine emotive shot (emotive are my favorites). Nice crop and very attractive color tones. I even think the plain off-white looking sky provides contrast and adds to the mood of this picture. Looks like you might have added a slight grain here (or maybe it is a result of the point and shoot) - either way it's a nice effect and might have been cool even grainier. One very small nit - a tiny piece of crud in the sky just over his forehead could use cloning out IMO. Well done.
