Great in flight capture. Nice markings, especially the upper rump and pale secondaries... unique to dowitchers. Would be rare in Colorado. We have Wilson's Snipe which are somewhat similar.

Interesting to me that our birds in the Colorado mountains are just now in courtship and mating. Our ducklings will be more than a month away.

Good ID, although I don't think one can differentiate the male vs. the female. (At least, I can't.) Northern Mockingbird, Mimus polyglottos. Good markings!

Brown-headed Nuthatch, Sitta pusilla. Uncommon and limited to SE U.S. Good capture. I had to research this one.

Thanks for the comments. This id was unambiguous due to the field marks. First of all, this is a bird only seen one other time in recorded history in Estes Park, CO. So, it's causing quite a stir amongst birders here. I knew to look for him. And, this wren is unlike other wrens in markings and coloration. He matches the images in the field guide books for Bewick's Wren without doubt. Finally, this is a species which has virtually disappeared in the Eastern US. There are not too many birds which I've never seen before, but this was a pleasant surprise.
