An Independent Treeby JiaBobComment: Great clouds. The sky is bright relative to the hills, trees, forest and meadow. I suspect this may be a straightaway monochrome conversion. (I apologize if I'm wrong.) A channel mixer conversion to monochrome may have produced a more dramatic result. |

Mashuaby SheryllComment: In the shaded areas, the exposure is well done. It's always a problem with scenes like this where the camera can see through to sunlit areas. Harsh lighting creates lots of challenges for the photographer. The preponderance of tree limbs above the boat seem cluttered. The boat itself is an interesting subject. |

Appalachian Stormfrontby klkitchensComment: Good atmospherics. Rain, fog, low clouds tend to produce a lower contrast image. You do have elements in this scene which have good contrast. I think it's a natural looking scene. Could use some additional dynamic light, but it's pretty good, as is. |
