Dosaby PennyStreetComment: Good use of stainless steel as reflection mirror. Steel and rivets make the scene for me. |

Carved by the Windby hahn23Comment: Originally posted by Dennisheckman: Perfect control in the field. I am assuming you used a graduated ND filter for the sky exposure? I agree, should have been on the front page for sure. |
Thanks. Yes, 3 stop grad ND filter on sky. |

Playtime for Sanchezby MaryOComment: I've only seen boas in zoos. Good photo. It's the snake skin to human skin contact which evokes a primal response. |

30s at Clifton Springsby MargaretNetComment: Good use of vanishing lines effect and leading lines to tke us through the scene. There is a distant white ship out there. Wish it weren't quite so distant. This appears to be a long exposure, as evidenced by the smoothed water. Gives the scene a dreamy look. Very deep depth of field, as the post detail is evident from foreground to distance. The light angle appears to be 90 degrees left. The shadows in the water are hard to reconcile with the posts. That isn't a criticism. The surreal nature adds to the interest of the scene. May have been fairly choppy seas during the exposure. Excellent detail in the darkest shadows and no blown out highlights. Looks like a naturally processed HDR blend. It's done well. I am not critcal of the robust saturation. I think the scene needs the saturation. |

Spiky by h2Comment: Absolutely amazing accomplishment under any editing rules, but very impressive in minimal. Congratulations on the well-deserved blue ribbon. |
