Last Standby moondoggieComment: Great story. The top doesn't contain much of interest - maybe a longer focal length would have helped there, and also gotten rid of that little sliver of blow out sky at R. The dandelions draw the eye away from the minor annoyances, though. Very good. |

Desertby mattpgaComment: The sky would improve with a little positive gamma adjustment - looks a bit too gray/dark from here. The lichens are great, but the oof cactus and noise in the sky detract. I'm guessing you were in macro mode, so not much you could do about the depth of field. |

a quiet dayby lecookComment: The wet weather makes the saturated colors on the ball pop like crazy! Seems like it's slightly ahead of the field of focus, but that doesn't bother me much. Fantastic detail on the trees in the background, and perfectly exposed. Top 3 for me. |

Wooden Mannequinby RemieComment: This would probably make a really nice B/W, if you're into that. You just need to do something about the noise. Probably better rotated 90° CW, and I'd have included all of the hand. Otherwise nicely composed (guess I would have rotated the torso just a little CCW to straighten in out - makes the pose just a little weird). What's the shadow near the elbow? |

Power Linesby AndyLeeG4Comment: Certianly the best of it's kind in this challenge. Very nice light and lines. |

Blowin' in the Windby risu81Comment: Good color and clarity. Don't know if I'm for or against the dandelion being against the tree, but the blade of oof grass at R is way irritating. |

The sun in all its gloryby ohsmomComment: Subtitle: the last thing a digicam ever sees. If you don't have a ttl, optical viewfinder (ie. you have to compose using the LCD with the CCD exposed to the sun for more than an instant), this can destroy your CCD, and if you do it can destroy your eye (at least so I've heard). That said, not a bad image. |

The Sky's The Limitby midnight442Comment: A very tough lighting situation - open shade and hot sky. WIth a digital camera, it's better to expose for the highlights and then retrieve the shadow detail later in software - just the opposite of film. Good detail in the wal. |

Nice day!....Oh Sh.....by vin rigbyComment: A polarizer would have done a good job on the sky, if you've got one. Nice choice of focus. I usually don't like oof foregrounds, but it works at this scale. |

Spirit of Saint Louisby insipidangelComment: The overexposure almost works here, but not (IMO) in combination with the oversharpening (looks pretty jaggy). Symmetrical subjects like this usually look better centered, as well. |
