Teenage Model Wannabeby mpmcgeehanComment: Good 'tude on her, and I like the motion blur on her hair - gives her some motion. The shadows on the bg are a little distracting, esp at R. If you'd moved her a little closer to the camera, they might have landed out of frame. The whites (except for the blowouts on the collar and sleeve) look a little dingy. |

stormy weatherby snowComment: More zoom to capitalize on the great rays of sunlight a little better would improve the image. Cropping out the right side just where the trees begin makes a very strong vertical composition that follows the light from the bright cloud down through the dark, where it breaks through to the ground. |

Chive Flowerby KarenBComment: It looks like you've tried to create detail that didn't exist in the original by sharpening. Makes for a very pixelated, ersatz look. Good tones, and a pretty good composition (I'd have inched over to the right just a little). |

Up closeby sweetk1685Comment: Your subjects range in tone from black to about middle gray - not enough tonal range, especially when they have to compete for attention with the bright (though flat and not pure white) sky. Increasing the brightness and gamma (middle gray value) might help, but this is hard to pull off. Big oof flower at L could be cropped away. |

Focusby zaynoComment: Very nice environmental portrait. Love the light you caught here, and the softness sets the mood - lazy afternoon with an obsessive-compulsive. {g} The position of her legs took some working out - maybe a little more shadow detail there would help. Very fine. |

The skipperby finnurComment: The flash is a bit hard for what looks like a cozy local environment. Diffusing it a little with a napkin would soften the shadows a little, and make the glare on the glass and next to the counter man less prominent. Having her head in the open doorway keeps the busy (but intersting) bg from interfering with the woman, and the slight motion blur there is a good touch. Nicely done. |

Ms. Miaoby iraeComment: Thanks for the comments. This was taken while Ms. Miao was posing for a professional photographer for her wedding album. The Chinese make the album in the studio and various locations with lots of costume changes well in advance of the actual wedding, which isn't usually photographed. So the pose wasn't mine, and I couldn't really pick my perspective, either, as I had to shoot around the guy with the Hassy and three assistants. I thought the sepia was kind of a no-brainer - period costume, period location, etc. First submission (I think) with no 1s. Somebody asleep? {g} |

Fountain shadow girlby daclozerComment: The girl is placed just right. Getting the rim of light around the back of her head was key, and you pulled it off. Great colors and exposure. Shame about the streetlight, but what can you do? High marks. |
