Man Shavingby Photo JimComment: Only 1/10 of the allowable file size. Too compressed to evaluate properly, but the composition seems okay (the bear towel grabs my attention - maybe for the best). |

porch loungingby svaledaComment: Very sharp, with good textures and nice contrast. Some positive gamma might bring out the eyes a little more. I'd crop top and left to remove the bg and disconnected bit of cat. Nice work. |

Applepineby MaYzComment: Good textures, sharpness (in the middle ground) and tones, but too many oof elements in the fg makes it hard for me to look at. The leaves at top, bottom, L & R seem to emerge from the frame in a way that makes me want to blink to avoid being poked in the eye. This effect can be useful, but I don't think it works here. |

Pool of Reflectionby paully2k1Comment: Nice. I can't decide about the shadow on the swan in the fg, but I'm leaning toward not liking it. The leading lines don't really go anywhere, but they do give nice depth. |

Candlesby rcrawfordComment: I like the arrangement, and the shadow is growing on me. Great curve in those candlesticks. I think a brighter background for more separation between subject and background and define the shadow better would give it more snap. |

When Doves Cryby arnitComment: Very fine. Nice repetition of the cross theme, good tones. You've got some nice bokeh in the ULHC - must be an SLR shooter. Guess my only criticism is the blowout on the dove. I don't mind it on the rear wing, but wish it didn't spill down onto the body. |

Timeless Memorialby daverx7Comment: The sundial is cool, but it's dwarfed by the flagpoles in the bg. Better, I think, to get in closer and shoot for the smooth texture and reflections in the metal with some of the trees and sky for a background. |

Abstract Catby justineComment: Looks like a perfectly reasonable non-abstract cat to me, but what's in a name? Good contrast, and nice and sharp. This is a good angle, as well. Focus could have been just a little closer to include the 'eyebrow'. |

Ponderingby darylbrownComment: If you could increase the contrast while maintaining the density of the black bg, you'd have a winner here. |

Stone Cabinsby leonpcComment: Great subject for this challenge. I think another time of day might have made for even more dramatic textures, and could have separated the subject from the backgound better. Needs a slight CW rotation to straighten out the doorways, and maybe a step to the right to get the bush out of the near doorframe. |
