Solitudeby rumttuggerComment: The 'treetrunk' ending before the bottom of the frame like that is pretty disconcerting. Looks almost upside down, but the light does seem to come from above. |

Engrossedby sjgleahComment: Nice. Even better if she'd been sitting a little mor to the R for the shadowless bg. Good eye. |

I Once Worked on a Farmby Gene L.Comment: Great old tractor, and I love the bits of white foliage - looks almost IR. Most of the tractor comes out kind of middle gray, though. Did you look at the individual color channels to see if there was one that offered better contrast? You could probably adjust the gamma down a little and see if that helped to add density to the tractor and darken the bg a little. Nothing to be done about it, but there seems to be some moire in the radiator grille that gives an odd sense of motion. Well seen. |

a sunny afternoonby tydComment: The reflected light from the open book is perfect for lightening the shadows there. Good focus and clarity. Don't know if the black bit of architecture at L adds anything, and certianly needs a CCW rotation. I'd straighten the horizontals, then crop tighter on the man. Still nice. |

Fixer-upperby MrsKroComment: A nice subject for B/W, but the lighting and composition could be better. Given the limited dynamic range you have to work with, it probaby would have been better to concentrate on either the area in shade, or the area in sunlight, or the place where they intersect. The small sunlit area at bottom just steals potential contrast from the large shaded area as is. |

Photoshoot Setupby FranziskaLangComment: Excellent light, focus, clarity, tones. Personally, I think the mirror image detracts. It's not as sharp as the top due to some doubling of the reflection, and the angle of the reflection makes the composition a bit messy. Still near the top of the heap. |

Granville at Nightby GtnjiggyComment: Well exposed, reasonably sharp with good tones. Somehow not a 'grabber' though. The most dramatic area, IMO, is where the dark clouds and the top of the bldg with the cupola at UR interact. |

Photo-opp Babesby David EyComment: Buncha backs - tough to pull off. The inversion makes it interesting, but the underlying photo could be better thought out to begin with. |

Automobilesby bobgaitherComment: Nice tones, and tack sharp. I'd like to see the grille of the lead car for a more balanced composition, but that may not have been possible. |
