I read an article in "Nature Magazine" describing how scientists have recently discovered that insects do not devour flowers for the nourishment. Instead, because the complex structure of an insect eye renders the perfectly formed petals of most flowers into a type of ultramoire pattern, the insect develops an intense headache. To alleviate this migraine, an insect will chew every petal of their home into irregular, insect-eye-pleasing shapes. In reality, insects hate the taste of flowers and would rather eat just about anything else. I thought that was interesting.
However, not all insects abuse Neat Image to the degree demonstrated in this photo.

You are very observant to have discovered the hidden four-legged creature lurking in the original color version of this photograph. It seems that even the overly-saturated blue was not enough to reveal the creature's existance to many of the voters. Maybe the voters, like Jean, were engrossed in a good book and could not be concerned by trivial monsters.
