I believe the texture in this is noise. Sometimes for texture I'll use a b/w adjustment layer applied (mostly) in multiply or overlay mode. Also, I am playing with Nik Color Efex and sometimes like the Tonal Contrast applied in different modes for texture.
There may have been movement on the decorative leaves on the right. I walked in and out of the cooler during the exposure. Good eye.

wonderful... and great DPC finish for a lensless photo. Still not a 5.5 :)

You really picked up a lot of great shots at that pier, Karen.
I prefer Zoneplate shots like this one because there is so much left to fill in with imagination. (The thin line between abstract reality and surreality is what I find most enjoyable about viewing pinhole/zoneplate works) In this photo I am drawn to the two objects at the end of the pier - the only objects in the photo not formed by straight lines (aside from the fog/waves which is a known). The objects are well-placed in the photo and should, by all rules of photography, be the objects of attention, yet I didn't even see them until I had looked at the photo for several minutes. I love surprises in a photo. I'm guessing the objects are fishermen or tourists peering over the pier, although they could be pelicans, or perhaps it is Nessie sunbathing. Or... maybe I am just dreaming and there is nothing there at all. Well done.

fantastic! I interpreted the Tao as the relationship between the men compared to the relationship of the couple.

The pinhole DOF and blur makes for some interesting illusions. Thankfully, you don't have a beard.

I agree with Karen, holding this pose for 13 seconds deserves to get you some kind of award. Well done.

what an interesting combination. I think you need to keep using it. Your "rabbit in a chair" shot is superb.
