brighton is one of my favourite places on the planet - i spent many hours doing just what these kids are doing. a lovely image indeed. there seems to be more droopage than last time i was there.

you had to get a top mark for using Hemingway's story , and the fact that you made top twenty in the rankings is icing on the cake.

a lovely, quiet, yet not at all subtle image. the tones, the deep melancholy, all work so well. a true portrait or the animal, and of yearning.

coke, cat, dog

Comment:
i'm not always a fan of selective desat, but it works really well here. was i influenced by the fact that it's obviously africa? maybe. but the tones and composition really work well here, the emptiness in the middle of chaos just make it. the implied line leading from coke, through cat to dog energise the whole piece, in a quiet and slightly menacing way.

Comment:
I really liked this one - the shallow depth of field, the deep tones, and the melancholy, subtle story implied in the mundane objects. the composition is dynamic yet quiet, and the whole thing has a warm, sad feeling. well done indeed.
