Seems interesting but at the same time it is hard for me to tell what exactly this is. I like the reflection in the bottom right especially.

You know, I hadn't noticed the yellow streak at all. But coming back to the shot just now I did notice. Definitely a photo where taking a second glance is helpful.

(I was the "10" vote! I just really like it! :-) )

Wow, shows some great personality!! I think the one suggestion I have is that maybe the upper left and middle picture shouldn't be beside one another? Having the currently top right shot in between them would prevent the green backgrounds from sort of blending together. Other than that it is a great composite. It looks very obvious that you both had a great time, and that makes for nice shots to view.

Great setup! I think you did a great job at what you planned to do. I love the composition and colors.. I agree with the previous comment: this shot is "nice to view" :-) My favorite part is how you can see the reflection of the yellow duck right under the blue one... it just seems like a nice touch.

I think one thing that really hurt you was the pixelatedness. The maximum allowed file size is 150K and taking advantage of that will give you pictures that look much smoother. The left and right sections of blue especially would look better at a higher file size. I think it would also take care of some of the "softness" although I am not sure. I don't know if you intended the focus to be the way it was but I do like how the blue duck is a bit soft. The softness on the yellow duck doesn't help or hurt, for me, but I can definitely see how others would want it more in focus because it looks like the main point of interest visually.

All in all I think this is a good shot, and congrats on being able to implement your concept!

Aw, great to hear your comments! You say technically it wasn't difficult to take, and that may be true, but this photo really shows talent. Congrats on this beautiful shot and the ribbon.

Wow, you seem to have gotten some great comments on what you may have improved, so I'll just talk about what I really like about this shot. Hope that's okay! (I gave it a 9, so there will be plenty to talk about :-) )

Well the first thing I love about this is the group of ducks on the ship. Those three just have such great personality! I especially love the one on the left - with the eyebrows he just looks so devious! The angle you shot at really helps emphasize them... it seems almost like their mouths (bills) are raised upward in a shout. In contrast, the duck on the plank looks relatively innocent and meek. The combination here really helps to make this shot humorous and engaging.

You did a good job, in my opinion, at using "props" as your background. You obviously couldn't put duckies in a real ship like this, but I think there are ways that people could use props and end up looking cheesy. I don't know how to describe it... it's like you're using the background and the cutouts/paintings/etc of the waves and the flames to really enhance things, rather than making us think "oh, that's just an excuse for not finding the real thing".

I like the colors and composition. Your "tilted horizon", instead of being distracting, helps add a sense of aliveness and motion to the shot. Also, I think the whole concept is just wonderful - the "devil duck" is just brilliant and really helps make the whole shot.

Wow, this is such a lovely shot!!! The ice patterns are interesting and in a way the lines on the left help to draw my eye towards the ducks. The colors are just beautiful, the shadows are dramatic, and the composition is interesting.

The one improvement I would suggest would be to emphasize the ducks a little more. I definitely agree with the previous comments that have said that lightening them might be good. Right now they do seem to blend into the rest of the shot just a *tiny* bit too much. I think what you did in post processing seems good, so probably it would have taken a bit of a different lighting during the actual shot. But that might have destroyed the pretty shadows, so I'm not sure what would be the best option.

Congrats on top 20 and a personal high score! This was such a great image to critique - thanks!
